Chile December 2022

We arrived to Chile, just Roger, Zia and I. That same weekend we went to El Cajón del Maipo.
On our way to Termas de la Colina, a hot springs pool place located in el Cajón del Maipo in the outskirts of Santiago.
We bought gasified water and sopaipillas in this small food trailer that was parked on the way to the termas.
We arrived at the termas (hot springs) and Roger started enjoying them with Zia.
Loved these rock formations.
And all about these mountains, part of the Chilean Andes.
After a couple of days in Santiago we finally found the camper to take us on our roadtrip to the South of Chile, a 1969 Landrover Santana.
Zia wanted to go in to pretend she was driving.
While playing she found this, I am not sure what it was.
I think Roger was organizing his tools in the trunk of the camper.
I think Roger and Philippe, Roger's brother, taking a look at a leak the camper had.
A couple of portraits Philippe took of us with my camera.

Our Landrover camper and Philippe's LR Defender parked side by side as he was helping Roger turn it on with the Defender's battery. We still had to leave the car where the previous owner had it parked for a couple of days.
When Naima arrived to Chile, Philippe invited us to a vineyard in Casablanca, a wine country town located on the way to Viña del Mar.
In Chile they call this fish "Vieja". Philippe fished it for us and brought it to the restaurant to be cooked.
This restaurant and vineyard is called Villard. We were able to try a couple of different wines.
I took a walk with Zia around the vineyard.
After the restaurant we went to Viña del Mar. The first thing we did was go to this rock park.

Christmas eve, we hiked this rocky beach in a town named Papudo, still in the region of Valparaiso.

We renamed the Villard wine, Mailliard wine, on Christmas eve.
Finally started our roadtrip in our old Landrover camper. Naima and Zia laid on the back the whole time.

Naima getting annoyed with the camera, and camera lady.
We passed by the city of Concepción and stopped at a worship gathering that our friend Mirta Sierra invited us to. She sings and worships with the group Unidos al Padre, who seek to unite churches in Concepción to worship at one voice and make altars all around the city for Jesus.
Having breakfast at a truck stop and restaurant as we started heading to Villarrica. I ordered huevo en paila. Makes the eggs taste better for some reason.
Roger ordered a sandwich, another favorite in Chile.
Zia eating ham.
And Naima also ordered a paila de huevo.

The mechanics of these windshield wipers amazed me. Check out our camper video tour coming soon on our YouTube to see what I mean.
On our way to Villarrica we encounter other travellers with Landrovers. They were very excited to take a photo with us and our old camper.

Falls and river by a property we are interested in buying outside of Villarrica.
Roger showing me the property.
El volcán Villarrica. They said it was active while we were there, but everything seemed to be ok.
We could not miss the usual picture with the city sign.
Our friedns Maikel and Monica also went to Chile and did a roadtrip to Patagonia. Monica pictured here with their van. We made a fire at another friend's property that night and stayed a couple of nights there before travelling back to Panama.

Our last day of fun in Villarrica we went out with Maikel and Monica in their rented van.

Las Peinetas, mountain view from our property in Chile.
Naima like excavators. We saw in the property where the Salto del León is. Maikel took her to play with it.
